The sale and purchase agreement with Intel which was signed on July 25 became the momentum for the delegation of around 2,200 Intel employees to Apple, including intellectual property, equipment and rent.
Through the merger of patents obtained for wireless technology and the future with existing portfolios, Apple will have more than 17,000 wireless technology patents, ranging from protocols to cellular standards to modem architecture and modem operations.
Intel will maintain the ability to develop modems for non-smartphone applications, such as personal computers, internet-of-things devices and autonomous vehicles.
"The agreement allows us to focus on developing 5G network technology while maintaining the critical intellectual property and modern technology that our team has made," Intel CEO Bob Swan said in a joint statement released by Apple, quoted on Monday.
"We have worked with Intel for many years. We know that the team shares Apple's desire to design technology that provides the best experience for our users, "said Apple Senior Vice President for Hardware Technologies Johny Srouji.
Apple revolutionized technology by introducing Macintosh in 1984. Apple then became a producer of smart devices that was calculated by its innovation through iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and Apple TV.
Four software platforms, iOS, MacOS, watchOS, and TVOS have provided different experiences on all Apple devices and empower people with App Store, Apple Music, Apple Play and iCloud services. Apple has more than 100,000 employees worldwide until the beginning of 2019.
